Kajol Devgn seems to be getting ready to return to Tamil movies after close to two decades. She is likely to make her comeback with Dhanush's upcoming Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, popularly called VIP 2.

Rumours are rife that the makers of Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 have approached Kajol for an important role in the movie. The 42-year old actress is said to have got impressed by the script and has given her consent to act in the Tamil movie. But it is not clear whether Kajol has formally signed the project papers.

Kajol, whose last Tamil movie was Minsara Kanavu in 1997, has apparently been offered a huge pay cheque of Rs 4 crore for her role in Velaiilla Pattadhari 2. However, the makers are yet to open up on the issue.

Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, while her brother-in-law and multifaceted actor Dhanush is bankrolling the movie under his home banner of WunderBar Films, in association with Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations.

The movie is a sequel to the superhit movie, Velaiilla Pattadhari. But it is not known whether it will be a continuation of the first part or if the latest instalment is being made with a fresh story.

The cast and crew of Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 has undergone many changes. Director Velraj has been replaced by Soundarya while Sean Roldan has stepped into the shoes of Anirudh Ravichander as the music director of the film. Amala Paul was the female lead in the first instalment.

It is a youth-centric movie that revolves around Raghuvaran, played by Dhanush.
