Jurassic World 2: Meet the villainous character who is darker than Dr Henry Wu [VIDEO]

Jurassic World 2 will introduce a new villainous character to the franchise fans and his intentions could be far more darker than the chief geneticist Dr Henry Wu. BD Wong's character was the one who created the hybrid dinosaur Indominus Rex, but the mastermind behind it was not him. It was John Hammond, the founder of bioengineering company InGen.

Richard Attenborough's character and his followers always wanted something different to attract people to the theme park. Their never-ending ambitions gave birth to the new hybrid dinosaur in Jurassic World.

In the film, the biotechnologist reminds Masrani Global Corporation's CEO Simon Masrani that he was the one who asked for a bigger, scarier and cooler dinosaur. "Nothing in Jurassic World is natural, we have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals," he says.

But the new details about Jurassic World 2 indicates that Hammond was not alone in the mission to clone the genes. There was a dark reflection of him and the person is all set to step out of the shadows.

The new character will be portrayed by legendary actor James Cromwell and he recently dished a few details about his role in the upcoming science fiction film.

"The character which Attenborough played [John Hammond], I'm his partner, uh Benjamin Lockwood, and we developed the technology of being able to clone the genes – and so I am, uh, trying to deal with the blowback from what we have done," the 77-year-old cast member told Larry King.

So the franchise fans have come up with their own theories about the new character and some of them believe that he is the owner of the mansion featured in the official photo of Jurassic World 2 shared by executive producer Colin Trevorrow and director JA Bayona.

"Whomever owns the mansion may be a dark reflection of John Hammond, a less than ideal version of his already flawed self. While it's likely that Lockwood is a protagonist, part of me can't help but to distrust him and his motives," stated a fansite called Jurassic Outpost.

The online portal also claimed that Jurassic World 2 could focus more on animal rights and rescue mission rather than dinosaurs in a theme park. Check out the statement below:

It sounds like the world has changed to become much less receptive of dinosaurs post the disastrous events of Jurassic World. As the movie is said to deal with 'animal rights', and enough evidence has come out showing that it will feature a rescue mission of sorts, we're willing to bet he is funding the attempts to save them.
