Popular Telugu actor Jr NTR's most-awaited movie "Baadshah" has opened to good response in theatres worldwide.

"Baadshah" direcected by Srinu Vaitla was released on 5 April (Friday) in a grand scale. The movie has received positive reviews from film critics.

The film's story is about a young man who swears to take revenge for the death of his foster brother in a bomb blast. Jr NTR appears as Rama Rao who is ambitious and has dreams of going abroad to earn money. His foster brother gets killed in a bomb blast and to take revenge for his death, NTR joins a mafia gang that wields power across South East Asia and Hong Kong.

He joins the mafia group posing as Baadshah - the son of a trusted aide of the mafia kingpin Sadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorjee). But Sadhu Bhai learns about his sinister plans and decides to kill him. He also plans to carry out terrorist attacks in all the major metros of India. How the hero tries to foil Sadhu's terrorist attack plan forms the crux of the story.

"Baadshah" has all the ingredients of a commercial movie including comedy, high-octane stunts and entertaining song sequences shot in beautiful locations that will impress NTR's fans. The actor, who is fondly known as the young tiger of Tollywood cinema, has paid tribute to his grandfather - popular film star NTR senior - by dancing to the remix of his hit numers.

The film stars Kajal Aggarwal in the female lead. The lead actors have teamed up for the second time after their successful movie "Brindavanam" which was released in 2010. Comedians M.S. Narayana and Brahmanandam have managed to evoked laughter with their comedy portions in "Baadshah."

The rest of the star cast includes Siddharth, Navadeep, Nasser, Suhasini, Chandra Mohan, Vennela Kishore, Tanikella Bharani and Satya Kishnan.

Shekhar of OneIndiasaid, "Baadshah is an action movie with all commercial ingredients that will impress the mass."

"Srinu Vaitla's interesting narration, S Thaman's rocking music, excellent picturisation, Gopimohan and Kona Venkat's punch dialogues and funny one-lines, Brahmanandam and MS Narayana's rib-tickling comedy, exotic locales, beautiful costumes and a few other things are its other highlights," Shekhar said.

Heaping praises on the film's comedy portions, Sangeetha Devi Dundoo of The Hindu said, "Like many films in recent years, Baadshah relies heavily on comedy. Some of these portions turn out to be well written than the rest of the film. M.S. Narayana as filmmaker 'Revenge Nageswara Rao' who focuses on crime, underworld and has an affair with almost every heroine he works with is a riot."

"In the second half, Brahmanandam carries the weight of the comedy portions, caught in an inception-like trance and 'living his dream'. He also gets to walk like Salman Khan to a Dabangg background score," Sangeetha said.

Commending the work of the film's stars, IndiaGlitz said, "NTR shows shades of what he displayed in Adurs, and adds a new shade to his repertoire in the second half.  Brahmi and Kajal ably support him.  Navdeep, an important character, did not get many dialogues, which robbed his character of the required flesh.  Nassar, Kelly, Mukesh, Tanikella, JP and others do their parts well."

Karthik Pasupulate of Times of India said, "All in all it's the sort of movie that offers some asinine entertainment whose USP is the utter predictability it offers - mundanely amusing!"
