An Army jawan and two terrorists were killed in a gunbattle in Handwara town in Jammu & Kashmir's Kupwara district, said reports.
The Army jawan was identified as Naik Satish Kumar.
The encounter between militants and security forces took place at Rajwar area in Handwara. Another soldier was also injured in the gunfight.
On Thursday evening, at least three heavily armed terrorists were killed by the Army in an encounter in Poonch district of the state.
Three days ago, a Hizb-ul Mujahideen terrorist was also caught in Shopian district in a joint operation by the Army and the police.
