At least eight people, including four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, were injured when a grenade attack in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, the attack took place near KP Road. Security forces cordoned off the area and were on the lookout for the attackers.

The injured have been undergoing treatment at a hospital. 

The grenade attack was targeted at a troop of CRPF personnel, according to police officials.

"Militants hurled a grenade at a posse of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) troopers at K.P. Road. Two civilians and three troopers were injured in this grenade explosion," a police officer told IANS.

"The target appears to be the road opening party (ROP) of the CRPF," he added.

No guerrilla group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
