Cricketer Irfan Pathan will soon enter celebrity dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" as the first wild card contestant.

Being a non-dancer, Irfan was initially hesitant to accept the offer, but later took it as a challenge. The cricketer hopes that his stay in the show will help him learn a few dance moves.

"This offer came to me and I took it as a challenge. It took time for me to accept the show... I took two-three months. I am a non-dancer. And this show is about the journey of non dancers and this thing attracted me to do the show," PTI quoted him as saying.

"This is off season of cricket so I thought of taking up this new challenge. I will be able to learn one or two moves." he added.

Irfan claims that the money that he will earn from his stint on the show will be used for his foundation, Cricket Academy of Pathans, which is jointly run by him and his cricketer-brother Yusuf Pathan for under-privileged children.

"We have a foundation- Cricket Academy of Pathans- and it is our dream project that we launched last year. It is a self funded project where we help under-privileged children... coach them, give them equipments and other things. So whatever funding I get from here, we will use it there." the cricketer said.

Irfan has already started rehearsing for the dance show. Considering the cricketer's lack of dance moves, it will be interesting to see him perform on stage.

Will he be able to compete with contestants who have already impressed viewers with their amazing performances?

Meanwhile, the last episode of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" saw the elimination of Dipika Kakar while Vivian Dsena won the 'performer of the week' title.
