Patna, May 23 (ANI): Jitan Ram Manjhi, who has succeeded Nitish Kumar as the new Chief Minister of Bihar after the latter demitted office taking moral responsibility for the JD (U)'s debacle in general elections, is seeking a confidence vote today. The JD (U) government led by Manjhi has to prove its majority on the floor of the house. In a major development towards the formation of a new alliance in Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal had on Thursday announced its unconditional support to the JD (U) government in the state. With Manjhi, who belongs to Musahar sub-caste, taking over as the Chief Minister, the Lalu Prasad-led party does not want to be seen as opposing a member of one of the most backward community.
