Chennai, Sep 29 (ANI): AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's loyalist O Panneerselvam was on Monday sworn in as the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Panneerselvam, succeeds J Jayalalithaa who has been sentenced to four years imprisonment in Disproportionate Assets Case. Panneerselvam's oath taking was administered by Governor K Rosaiah after which his cabinet colleagues were sworn in. Panneerselvam and his cabinet ministers, including Natham R Vishwanathan and R Vaithilingam, were in tears during the oath taking ceremony. Panneerselvam took the oath along with 31 MLAs. All the ministers were members of Jayalalithaa's cabinet. Meanwhile, Jayalalithaa, has now moved to Karnataka High Court against the verdict and has asked for bail.
