New day, but the same old Jaya Bachchan attitude with the paps. Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan once again faced flak for her behaviour as she got angry at shutterbugs who were filming her chatting with other celebs.
At the THR Honour Awards held on Wednesday, who's who from B-town graced the awards night, and several videos and photos have gone viral. In those viral clips, filmmaker Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Vicky Kaushal among others amped up the glam quotient.
A clip of Jaya Bachchan chatting and laughing with Karan Johar went viral. In the clip, Karan and Jaya were greeting each other. However, the moment was captured by the paps, and soon Jaya got angry and shouted at them.
As Karan met Jaya, he gave her a hug. The paparazzi asked them to pose together, but they continued talking. Karan teased Jaya, saying, "From Gen-Z to paparazzi, everybody is obsessed with you." She was seen smiling.
While walking away, Karan looked at the paparazzi and said, "Mere wajah se mila photo (You got photos because of me)." The filmmaker then turned around and repeated it to Jaya, saying, "I just told them. I said, 'Mere wajah se mila photo.'" She made a face as everyone, including Karan, laughed.
In another clip, Jaya got angry when camerapersons approached her to take photos. She gestured for them to move away, saying enough repeatedly.
However, after Jaya Bachchan once again slammed the paps, fans flocked to social media and questioned why they were even filming her when some had earlier claimed they would boycott her after her gandi pant comment.
Isn't Jaya Bachchan boycotted by paps?
In December, during an interview, Jaya Bachchan made remarks about paparazzi, calling photojournalists rats, criticising them for wearing "gande, phate hue pants", and even commenting on their qualifications.
Her comments about the paps didn't go down well with the paps, and they had decided to boycott her. However, on Wednesday night, the paps were seen hovering around Jaya Bachchan to click her photos.
This isn't the first time Jaya has slammed the paps. Over the years, she has frequently criticised paparazzi behaviour at public events. On one occasion, she was heard saying, "Chaliye aap log bhi saath mein. Aajaiyye (Come with us. Do come)," followed by murmuring, "Bakwas sab, gande gande se sab (Nonsense)." At Hema Malini's birthday celebration in 2023, she had also requested photographers not to direct her while posing.
Jaya was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar. The film featured Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles and marked another successful collaboration between the actor and filmmaker.
