Junior NTR-starrer "Janatha Garage," which has become the second fastest Rs. 100 crore grosser in Tollywood, is now moving towards reaching Rs. 75 crore-mark at the AP/T (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) box office.
After breaking a series of records, the collection of "Janatha Garage" has started slowing down at the AP/T centres. On its ninth day, the distributors have earned Rs. 94 lakh from the eight main centres in the Telugu-speaking states. It takes the total tally to Rs. 47.49 crore at the AP/T centres for distributors. The total gross collection comes close to Rs. 70 crore.
Trade experts were hoping that "Janatha Garage" would reach Rs. 75-crore mark in its second weekend. But now it is unlikely to achieve the feat as Andhra Pradesh is observing bandh on Saturday, Sept. 10, following the Centre's denial to give special status to the state.
Many theatres in Andhra Pradesh are shut and this is not helping the filmmakers' cause. Industry watchers were expecting the movie to earn over Rs. 6 crore on Saturday and Sunday. With the state now observing bandh, it looks unlikely to reach the figure this weekend.
The worldwide collection of "Janatha Garage" stood at Rs. 102.35 crore in its first week and the movie has become the ninth Telugu film to reach the Rs. 100-crore club, after "Magadheera," "Dookudu," "Gabbar Singh," "Attarintiki Daredi," "Race Gurram," "Baahubali," "Srimanthudu" and "Sarrainodu."
Here is the day-wise break-up of shares of "Janatha Garage" in various centres of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These are estimated numbers and may vary from the actual number released by the makers. All the figures are in crore Rs..
