At least one policeman was killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district on Wednesday. The encounter is still underway.

The police officer belonged to the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir.

The cop, identified as Muhammad Shafi Dar, was killed in an ongoing gunfight that started at the Marwal forest area of Zaloora Sopore, according to media reports.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Nana patekar visited the BSF camp in Jammu on Wednesday and interacted with the soldiers there.

"The soldiers, who serve in uniform are at the front are our real heroes, they fight a battle everyday to protect the integrity of the nation... It is a great opportunity for me to come and meet BSF troops. The whole nation stand firmly with them... Recognising the immeasurable service rendered by world largest border grading force tasked to guard vast Indian frontier in western and eastern corridor help raise their morale," Patekar told reporters.

The actor was on a day long visit to the Indo-Pak International border in Hiranagar and Kathua.

On Monday, the Indian Army had foiled an infiltration bid by killing a terrorist in Naugam sector.

A terrorist was killed, while two army jawans were injured in another encounter between terrorists and security forces in south Kashmir's Shopian district on November 7.
