Jaguar has released a first image of the production version of its upcoming SUV, the F-Pace ahead of the official debut at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, which begins on 17 September. The first image shows the side image of the car and does full justice to the previous Jaguar C-X17 concept.

The performance crossover from Jaguar has a sharp design with angular edges. The headlamp of the car seems to be inspired from the XE sedan and trail lamps from the F-Type. The new model rides on the aluminium-intensive platform and interior cabin has been described as being wide and spacious with plenty of room for five people and their luggage by the manufacturer.

"2015 is Jaguar's 80th anniversary and it has been a monumental year of transformation for the brand. First, with the introduction of the innovative Jaguar XE and followed closely by the class-leading all-new XF. Today is a proud moment for Jaguar as we launch the F-Pace, our first performance crossover," said Kevin Stride, Jaguar Land Rover Vehicle Line Director.

Jaguar also launched a teaser video of the vehicle. The video confirms the F-Pace will be a four-wheel driven crossover. Jaguar is coy about the engines for now. However, in all probability Jaguar will use Ingenium line-up of efficient four-cylinder petrol and diesel units, along with a bigger supercharged V6 3.0-litre powering the F-Pace S variant.

Built in Solihull, the UK, the Jaguar F-Pace is expected to come to Indian shores in the second half of 2016. When launched, the F-Pace will be pitted against Porsche Macan, Audi Q5 and BMW X3 with an expected price of close to Rs 60 lakh.
