Jagathy Sreekumar aka Ambili chettan, a name that cannot be replaced in the Malayalam film industry, has been staying away from the tinsel town for the past three years after he met with a major car accident in March 2012.

Now, a few fans of the actor have come forward with a musical tribute, titled "Jagathysm" ("Jagathysom"), to the legendary actor.

The music album, written and directed by Vishal Shiv Prabhu, shows some of the best performances of the "Kilukkam" actor and is presented by Souparnika Subhash, Vishal and Vineesh S Nair.

The album, which begins with actor's "Otta Pathrathil" song, also shows the reactions of some of Jagathy's fans, who want to see the actor back on-screen soon.

"We wish Jagathy chettan will come back to the films soon, that is our prayer," says one of the fans in the musical tribute.

"Jagathysm", sung by Vishal, Souparnika and Gireesh Sooryanarayan, has been receiving positive responses from the fans of "Meesa Madhavan" actor.

The car accident in 2012 has left Jagathy paralysed and he has not yet recovered completely.

A few weeks ago, Jagathy was in the headlines after he made his first public appearance in three years as a chief guest during an event in Poonjar, Kottayam, to facilitate students who secured high marks in board exams. The event created chaos after the wheelchair-bound actor's love child Sreelakshmi walked up to the stage to meet him, leaving organisers in shock.

Meanwhile, in a career spanning over three decades, Jagathy has acted in more than 1,500 films and holds a Guinness Book of World Records for the same. Some of the best performances of the five-time Kerala State Film Award winner include Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu (1986), Oliyampukal (1990), Kilukkam (1991) and Minnaram (1994), Pattabhishekam (1999) among several others.
