Jacqueline Fernandez seems all set to make her debut in South Indian films. The Bollywood actress is going to enter the Tamil industry with an item number.

She has been reportedly signed to do the special number in the Tamil remake of "Special 26", which featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Speaking to the Times of India, producer Thiagarajan said Jacqueline Fernandes would be shaking a leg to an item number in the film while actresses Simran and Devayani will make guest appearances. Anirudh is going to compose the music for the film.

Thiagarajan's son Prashanth is playing the protagonist in the "Special 26" remake. The film also has Sathyaraj, who will be stepping into the shoes of Anupam Kher, and Prakash Raj will play the character orignially essayed by Manoj Bajpayee. But the makers are yet to zero in on the female lead, which was portrayed by Kajal Aggaral in the original.

The film has been titled as "Irupathiyaaru". The movie was inspired by the 1987 Opera House heist where a group committed robbery after posing as CBI officers. The flick was one of the biggest hits of 2013 and won critical appreciation, too.

Thiagarajan had procured the remake rights two years ago, but the project is materialising only now.
