Jab Harry Met Sejal: How fans reacted to title of Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma-starrer; film's release date preponed

Speculations around the title of Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma's much-awaited film with director Imtiaz Ali have finally come to an end.

After deliberating on titles like The Ring, Rehnuma and Raula, the makers have finally zeroed in one — Jab Harry Met Sejal. The title was announced though the first look posters, which were unveiled on June 8. In the posters, SRK and Anushka are seen having fun on the streets of a European city.

Shah Rukh plays a Punjabi guide, Harvinder Singh Nehra aka Harry, in the film, while Anushka essays the role of Gujarati woman, Sejal. The duo meets during their trip to Europe and what follows next is their romantic love story, which forms the crux of the film.

The film was earlier supposed to be released on August 11, but the makers have now preponed it to August 4, to cash in on the long weekend that starts on the Raksha Bandhan holiday on Friday, August 4, followed by the Independence Day holiday later that month. "#JabHarryMetSejal to get two holiday weekends: 4 Aug 2017 having Raksha Bandhan holiday on Mon [7 Aug], followed by Independence Day in Wk 2," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. 

With this decision of the makers, the clash between SRK's film and Akshay Kumar's Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been averted. While Jab Harry Met Sejal will be released on August 4, Akshay's movie will be out on August 11.

The trailer will be out around June 19, a few days before Salman Khan's Tubelight hits the theatres, according to a DNA report.

Jab Harry Met Sejal has been extensively shot in beautiful locations in Europe like Amsterdam, Prague and Budapest, while a few portions have been canned in Punjab. Several pictures from the set have already surfaced online.

The movie marks the first collaboration between the Fan actor and Imtiaz, while this is the third time the superstar and Anushka will share screen space, after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hain Jaan.
