It was on International Women's Day 2017 that the makers of Mahanati unveiled the first-look poster of the biopic of legendary actress, singer, dancer, director and producer Savitri. While Keerthy Suresh will play Savitri in the most anticipated movie, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will also appear in a significant role of a journalist in it. And the latest we hear from industry insiders is the presence of a Malayalam actor in Nag Ashwin's directorial venture.
Youth icon Dulquer Salmaan is set to mark his direct debut in Telugu (after OK Bangaram) as he has been roped in to portray the role of Ramaswamy Ganesan aka Gemini Ganesan in Mahanati. Dulquer's character will be crucial in the movie as Ganesan was married to Savitri.
The latest news has excited DQ's fans as they believe the young star will make a convincing performance in the biopic. He is expected to join the team of Mahanati in May or June after wrapping up the shooting of Bejoy Nambiar's debut Malayalam movie Solo.
