Who will host "Bigg Boss 8"? – this question has been on the web for a long time now. While Salman Khan suggested arch-rival Shah Rukh Khan as a fit replacement for the show, a few viewers nominated actors of their choice.

Bollywood Life quotes a "reliable" source who confirms Khan's return on the reality show.

"Despite his busy schedule, Salman has agreed to return as the host of Bigg Boss and has signed on the dotted line recently," revealed the source. "He has adjusted his dates and it won't be a problem. His fans wanted him to return to the show and therefore, he decided to take it up because he has never disappointed his legion of fans, nor will he in the future."

Scheduled to go on air this August, "Bigg Boss 8" will be Salman Khan's fourth consecutive year as a host. The last 3 seasons have been a roller-coaster ride for the actor. Apart from love and support from the audience, he was also a victim of several controversies.

According to reports, the makers of the reality TV show had approached a couple of other stars to replace Khan as the host. Apart from Shah Rukh, Amitabh and Ranbir, Akshay Kumar was also reportedly approached.

However, any official statement or announcement haven't been made, and only time will tell, if the superstar, who is busy promoting his Eid release "Kick", will return to grace the show with his wit and charm.

The upcoming action flick is Khan's only release this year. The film features over-the-top action sequences. Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Kick" also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in prominent roles.
