Odissi, June 6, (ANI): Performers explored the subtle techniques of Odissi, the oldest surviving classical Indian dance form, in a day-long dance festival in eastern city of Bhubaneswar. The dancers used unique techniques propagated by Late Guru Debaprasad Das and thrilled the audience with the majestic movements of the ancient art form. Mesmerised by the aura of Odissi dance performance on the stage, dancers said it is a unique classical art form which can be understood only by live performance. The festival touted 'Debasmruti' was organised by a Bhubaneswar-based dance institution called Tridhara. The dance includes various dramatic stances and stamping of the feet to the beat of Odissi music.
