Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters have retained Antonio German and Josu ahead of the ISL 2016. The duo was impressive in what was a relatively forgetful season in the ISL the last time around for the side co-owned by Sachin Tendulkar.

Blasters, who were the finalists in the inaugural season of the ISL, have also retained Indian star players, including Sandesh Jhingan and Mehtab Hossain. Sandip Nandy, Mohammad Rafi and Gurwinder Singh have also been retained.

German, 24, scored six times over nine games for Kerala Blasters last season, while Josu, a Barcelona youth product, remained a set-piece specialist for the ISL side. The Spaniard's playmaking skills also earned him a lot of fanbase during ISL 2015.

The news comes as a sheer delight for the Kerala Blasters fans, as their team can once again get the focus back on performing better this time around under new coach Steve Coppell, a well-known former Manchester United winger.

It was also reported earlier that three promising Indian football youngsters, Vinit Rai, Farukh Choudhary and Nima Tamang from Goan side Dempo, LoneStar Kashmir FC and Gangtok Himalayan SC respectively, have been signed up by the Blasters ahead of ISL 2016.

A big signing could also be on the cards as it is being reported that the club is keeping close tabs on former Manchester City forward Bradley Wright-Phillips.
