Turkey has launched a manhunt for a woman dubbed as a "beautiful terrorist with a Mona Lisa smile"  who allegedly is an Islamic State (Isis) militant planning to carry out a terror attack in the country.

The 20-year-old identified by the Turkish police as Walentina Slobodjanuk from Kazakhstan is reportedly on the run and is using a fake ID to hide inside the country.

Her pictures have been distributed across the country, following which she earned the name "terrorist with a Mona Lisa smile".

Her picture shows her wearing a black headscarf with a mysterious smile on her face. Her mischievous smile is being compared with the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci - Mona Lisa.

The police have warned the public not to be deceived by the innocent-looking Isis terrorist, who might now be going by the fake name of Yildiz Bozkurt, according European Pressphoto Agency. .

Turkey, which in recent months has seen a spat of terror activities believes that the woman from Kazakhstan is part of an Isis cell planning to carry out another major attack on its soil.

Since the 10 October bombing  of a peace rally in Ankara, Turkey has stepped up its anti-Isis operations.

In the bombing 102 people were killed and the government had faced severe criticism for failing to prevent the suicide bombing even though one of the bombers was on the terror watch list.
