Actor Irrfan Khan, who has a pivotal role in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer "Jazbaa", has been missing from the project's promotional events.

"Jazbaa" is the former Miss World's comeback film, which has been directed by Sanjay Gupta. The movie will hit the theatres on 9 October and the makers have kick-started the film's promotional events.

While Aishwarya Rai has been spotted interacting with the media and attending reality shows, her co-star Irrfan has been missing from these events. And, it looks like only Aishwarya will be promoting the film.

Apparently, Irrfan is busy shooting overseas for a television show, according to Mid Day.

"Irrfan is shooting in Japan for a television show and cannot travel back to India. Promotional campaigns usually start at least 45 days prior to a film's release. Jazbaa's makers have similar plans, but as Irrfan is not here, only Ash will do the media interactions and other marketing activities. He is expected to join the team only a week before the film releases next month," Mid Day quoted a source as saying.

In other news, the makers have planned a US trip to promote "Jazbaa", and have requested Irrfan to be a part of it. But, the "Piku" actor apparently couldn't fit the event in his busy schedule.

However, director Sanjay Gupta is trying to get his dates and is in constant touch with the actor.

Irrfan will be seen in the role of a suspended cop in the female-centric flick. It is a remake of South Korean crime drama "Seven Days" and the trailer, which was released on 25 August, has made fans more curious.
