State-owned Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Co-operation (IRCTC) has inked a deal with emerging tech startup ZoopIndia, as the one of the official food aggregators on its trains.

"ZoopIndia aims to reform the food catering in Indian Railways by introducing advanced technologies and systems. Since we are always looking forward to offering our customers a delightful experience, appointing ZoopIndia as food aggregator is a step forward in the same direction. We are affirmative that their appointment will help us provide a more memorable and indulging experience to our users," A. K. Manocha, CMD, IRCTC, said in a statement.

Train passengers will be offered a plethora of cuisines such as veg or non-veg Thalis, South Indian, Chinese and also a variety of snacks and fast food options, ZoopIndia said.

Travellers can just open the smartphone application or log in to the official IRCTC website (HERE) or ZoopIndia (HERE) to check the menu and place the order and get it delivered directly to their seats.

Initially, ZoopIndia food order-and-delivery service will be available in 100 stations and it will soon be expanded in more routes across India.

Besides ZoopIndia, IRCTC also has partnerships with Foodpanda, KFC, Domino's Pizza, Haldiram's, Hallimane and a few more brands to serve food in trains across India.
