The final phase of the IPL 7 auction was completed with no eyebrow raising buys coming forward.
Below is a summary and list of the players that came under the hammer in the second session of the IPL 7 auction of day two.
All-rounders:
David Hussey: No takers for the Australian, and Hussey remained unsold.
Azhar Mahmood: Also went the same way, with the franchises passing the Pakistani/English all-rounder.
Angelo Mathews: With a base price of Rs 2 crore, and the fact that Sri Lankan players will miss the final phase of this season's IPL, there was never going to be a bid forthcoming.
Andre Russell: KKR and Mumbai Indians showed interest, but the MI having so little purse to play with, the player was always going to go to Kolkata, with the final price being Rs 60 lakh.
Luke Wright and James Franklin, the England and New Zealand all-rounders went unsold, despite their proven prowess in the T20 format.
John Hastings went to CSK at the base price of Rs 50 lakh, while fellow Australia Andrew McDonald, unsurprisingly, went unsold at the second time of asking as well.
Christopher Barnwell, the West Indian all-rounder, Farveez Maharoof of Sri Lanka, and David Wiese, the man who can tonk the ball a long way also did not get any bids.
Ashok Menaria, who was surprisingly overlooked at the early part of the auction on day two, yet again went unsold, while Yogesh Nagar did not receive any bids either.
Ireland's Kevin O'Brien remained unsold, while Rahul Tewatia went to the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 10 lakh. Amit Yadav, Jayant Yadav, Dwaine Pretorius, Pardeep Sahu, did not receive any bids, but SS Mandal was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 10 lakh.
Hardik Pandya, Manan Sharma, Dhruv Singh were unsold, with Karamveer Singh, the final name in the list of all-rounders, set to play for the Kings XI Punjab in this year's IPL following a successful Rs 10 lakh bid.
Bowlers:
Murali Kartik was picked up by the Kings XI Punjab, who made the only bid for the left-arm spinner at the base price of Rs 1 crore, while the Delhi Daredevils bought Wayne Parnell for the same price.
Doug Bollinger, Pat Cummins, Ryan McLaren, Adam Milne, Mitchell McClenaghan, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Juan "Rusty" Theron, Sean Abbott, Hardus Viljoen, Miguel Cummins, Michael Neser, Nicholas Beard, Jason Behrendorff, Ronsford Beaton all went unsold.
South Africa pace bowler Marchant De Lange and West Indian K Santokie were purchased by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 30 lakh each.
Sunrisers Hyderabad went back for Ashish Reddy at the base price of Rs 20 lakh, while Pawan Suyal, Pankaj Singh, Abrar Kazi, Udit Patel, Samad Fallah, Avinash Yadav, A Choudhary, Umar Nazir, Royston Dias and Rituraj Singh did not receive any bidders.
Ankit Sharma and Amit Mishra - no not the leg-spinner -- went to the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 10 lakh each, while Sachin Rana was bought by the RCB for Rs 20 lakh.
HS Sharath went for Rs 10 lakh to the Delhi Daredevils, leaving them with just Rs 10 lakh remaining in their purse, with Shivam Sharma bought by the Kings XI Punjab at Rs 10 lakh.
Deepak Hooda saw his price go up quite quickly with the Rajasthan Royals and KKR bidding for the player. The final price went up from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 40 lakh, with the player bought by the Royals.
Chama Milind was taken by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Shardul Thakur received interest from Mumbai Indians and Kings XI, with the latter bagging the player at Rs 20 lakh.
There was to be one more chance for the players unsold to come back and make some money and find a team for themselves, with that being the final list and phase of this year's auction.
Final list:
Pat Cummins and Debabrata Das went to KKR, who made the only bid at Rs 1 crore and Rs 20 lakh respectively.
Australian Ben Dunk went to the Mumbai Indians at Rs 20 lakh, while RCB bought wicketkeeper/batsman Yogesh Takawale for Rs 10 lakh.
Kerala player Sachin Baby was brought back into the auction, but there was to be no bid for the 25-year-old, while West Indian batsman Evin Lewis also went unsold at the same price of Rs 20 lakh.
Aravind Sreenath, the Karnataka player, was another to go unsold one final time, while Pawan Suyal was taken by the Mumbai Indians at the base price of Rs 10 lakh.
Udit Patel, after receiving no bids a couple of times, came back in again and remained unsold, while Jayant Yadav was bought by the Delhi Daredevils for Rs 10 lakh - their last bit money available - a big zero in their purse after that buy.
Samad Fallah was not bought, though, and the last player to be auctioned this year was Reeza Hendricks, with almost anti-climatically no bids being received.
Another year of the player auction is done and dusted - it's time for the IPL franchises now to perform on the field come April-May 2014.
