Apple will be looking forward to its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as the iPhone 7 to pull it out of the slump in business of late. The company is maintaining utmost secrecy like in the past and it is very unlikely to reveal any details like in the past, but that won't stop leakage of major specifications.

Release schedule

The Cupertino giant has the tradition of releasing its flagship device after its current flagship completes a year cycle in the market. So, the iPhone 7 should come in September if one is to go by this tradition because the iPhone 6s was released in this month.


Apple is reportedly coming out with two variants of its upcoming next-generation device. The iPhone 7 is expected to sport a 4.7-inch screen, while the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen and a dual camera.


It is reported that the iPhone 7 will resemble its predecessor in terms of looks and design. Pocket-lint has reported that leaked pictures of the phone case and screen protectors have that the upcoming smartphone will be similar to the iPhone 6s. French website NoWhereElse has also reported that the iPhone 7 will have the same height and width as its predecessor.


The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to share major specifications, including an A10 chip, an iOS 10 operating system, a 2GB/3GB RAM, and a camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation). Apple is expected to replace the 3.5mm headphone jack with a lightning jack in the new device.


Interestingly, MobiPicker has claimed citing a Chinese tipster that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be cheaper that their predecessors. It reported that the smaller variant will cost 5258 Yuan (around $802) for the 32GB model, 6088 Yuan (around $924) for the 64GB, and 7088 Yuan (around $1075) for the 256GB variant, compared to 5,288 Yuan for the 32GB iPhone 7 Plus is expected to come with a price tag of 6088 Yuan (around $924), 6888 Yuan (around $1045) for 128GB model, and 7888 Yuan (around $1197) for 256GB. The 128GB iPhone 6s Plus was priced at 7,788 Yuan.
