Indian shuttlers have fared well in the men's and women's singles of Indonesia Open so far. But they need to step up to the plate as the competition advances. All eyes will be on Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu in the second round encounter on Thursday.

Saina will face Nitchaon Jindapol while fourth seed Sindhu will battle it out against Beiwen Zhang. Both players will be keen to bring on their best game and move into the next round.

Though consistency has been a problem for Saina in recent months, she must be high on confidence after defeating Ratchanok Intanon in the first round. She has an incredible record against Jindapol with a 7-0 head to head advantage.

However, Saina cannot take Jindapol for granted.

Sindhu also boasts a good record against Zhang. The Indian shuttler came out on top on all the three face-offs. The duo last met in China Open 2016. Zhang is less likely to trouble the fourth seed.

In the men's department, India's HS Prannoy has a tough task as he is set to face top seed Lee Chong Wei. Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth will fight fourth seed Jan O Jorgensen.
