After a good show from the women Indian shuttlers, including Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu in the ongoing Indonesia Open, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Sai B Praneeth will be eager to play some good badminton and move into the second round of the competition.
All the mentioned three male shuttlers are going to be in action on Wednesday. Sai Praneeth, who emerged victorious in the Thailand Open last week, will be confident of a decent outing. But, the Indian player has a huge task as he faces second seed and world number one Son Wan Ho.
Praneeth might consider himself unlucky to face such a star in the first round of the Indonesia Open as the South Korean is a wonderful player and is a huge favourite to move into the second round, and also win the title.
However, the other Indian shuttler, Srikanth, has not been pitted against a seeded player. He will face Won Wing Ki Vincent and these two players have been involved in three head-to-head matches, with Vincent having won two of them including their last clash in Korea last year.
Srikanth might not have been consistent in the recent times, but if he gets his A game going on Wednesday, the Indian player should march into the second round.
Meanwhile, Prannoy, ranked no 29, is set to face Anthony Sinisuka Ginting from Singapore, and a close match is expected between these two players, who have never faced one another in the past.
