Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Fernando Torres could join the likes of Pele and Wayne Rooney in making their presence felt in India during the second edition of the Indian Super League.

Brazil legend Pele has confirmed he will pay a visit to India next month and catch the ISL game between champions Atletico de Kolkata and last year's finalists Kerala Blasters on 13 October at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

Reports also surfaced just days later that Manchester United talisman Rooney could also join Pele in setting foot in India as a part of the ISL promotions, and according to several reports, Rooney could be present in the country during the second or third week of November, and also attend an ISL game.

ATK co-owner Sourav Ganguly also confirmed the same.

If that was not enough, now Fernando Torres, currently plying his trade with Atletico Madrid, could also make his way to Kolkata at the ISL side's first home game on 13 October.

"There are high chances that Torres could attend Kolkata's first home game to draw in the crowds and also be a part of the franchise's promotions," a source from the ISL franchisee was quoted as saying to Indian media channel ABP.

"Considering the football craze in Kolkata, Torres is sure to be a hit with the crowd. Club owners are currently working out the dynamics of how to bring him here as per his availability."

Fernando Torres registered himself on the scoresheet for his club as Atletico Madrid got past Eibar with a 2-0 scoreline in a La Liga game on Saturday. The Madrid side are currently fifth in the Spanish league table with nine points from four games, three points behind leaders Barcelona.

Meanwhile, prior to Atletico Madrid's clash against defending Spanish league champions Barcelona this season, Torres called out to the Atletico de Kolkata fans for support.

And the ISL champions also displayed their trophy just prior to the start of the game at a packed Vicente Calderon, where Barca won 2-1, thanks to a Lionel Messi winner.
