Indian Super League franchisee side Kerala Blasters have completed the signing of 22-year-old Spanish midfielder Josue Currais Prieto.

The former Barcelona youth academy player joins the likes of former Newcastle defender Peter Ramage, former QPR youth player Antonio German, ex-Benfica midfielder Joao Coimbra, former Arsenal man Sanchez Watt, Brazilian centre-back Bruno Perone and English striker Chris Dagnall in the list of overseas players in the Kerala Blasters squad this summer.

Brazilian defender Erwin Spitzner and Spanish midfielder Victor 'Pulga' Herrero are the other foreign players in the side for ISL 2015.

While former Valencia star defender Carlos Marchena has been zeroed in as the marquee player of the franchisee side this summer, Blasters have not officially confirmed the signing of the player as yet.

Prieto comes in to the Indian Super League after plying his trade with Polish side Górnik Łęczna. He has also been a part of Finnish side SJK, and has scored a total of ten goals from 34 appearances in a single season.

The Spanish midfielder also joins a host of Indian players in the Blasters roster which includes East Bengal duo Cavin Lobo and Mehtab Hossain, Bengaluru FC duo Shankar Sampingiraj and CK Vineeth, as well as Ishfaq Ahmed and Peter Carvalho.

Star striker Iain Hume and defender Cedric Hengbart, who were key men for the Blasters in the last edition, have gone on to join Atletico de Kolkata and NorthEast United FC respectively this summer.

The Sachin Tendulkar co-owned team were the finalists in the ISL last season, where they were defeated by Atletico de Kolkata. In this season of the lucrative football league, however, the Blasters will look to go one better.

They begin their campaign under British coach Peter Taylor in this edition of the ISL and their opening encounter will be against NorthEast United FC on 6 October at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.
