Indian Super League side FC Goa have announced that they have acquired the services of Scottish striker Darryl Duffy on loan from I-League side Salgaocar FC, ahead of the second edition of the ISL.

The 31-year-old target man comes to the ISL franchise after garnering a lot of experience playing on Indian soil, during his two seasons in the domestic league of the country. Duffy, who has plied his trade with Swansea City as well as Scottish giants Rangers in the past, was the joint highest scorer of the I-League for Salgaocar.

Duffy scored 14 goals in that season, which was also his debut season in Indian football, after his transfer from English outfit Cheltenham Town FC.

In his second season with the Goan I-League outfit, Duffy registered himself on the scoresheet on seven occasions, and it has to be said that he missed the most of last campaign owing to injuries.

However, a fully fit Duffy is now looking forward to making the most use of his preseason tour of Dubai, along with the rest of the FC Goa roster.

The former Hull City player joins Brazilians Victor Simoes and Reinaldo in the FC Goa striking unit. Indian duo Victorino Fernandes and Thongkhosiem Haokip, who have played against Duffy in the I-League, are the other strikers Zico has at his disposal this season.

FC Goa start their first of three friendly encounters in the preseason tour of Dubai against Al Khaleej Club on 11 September.
