Gurgaon, Oct 18 (ANI): After the assault of three Nagaland youths in Gurgaon, Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Saturday said that India is a democratic nation and that Indian society must not be intolerant. He said that hate crimes will not be tolerated and that government is Indian is working in all directions to ensure safety for northeastern people. Rijiju also said that the government has agreed to set up dedicated helpline and police force for the people from north east. Rijiju visited Gurgaon today to take stock of situation and met senior police officials of the area. A high-level meeting will be held on the issue which will discuss steps required to prevent such future instances. Rijiju further said that the central government has taken serious note of the matter and appropriate action will be taken and they will leave no stones unturned in the matter.
