Srinagar, Dec 7 (ANI): Indian Army on Sunday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition used by militants during the latest encounter in Handwara town of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the reports, these arms and ammunitions were used in the gunfight between the Army and the militants during the second phase of assembly polls in Handwara on Tuesday. Also recovered were arms used during a gun battle in Uri sector, near the heavily militarized border with Pakistan, on Friday when militants sneaked into an Indian military camp killing 11 soldiers and police officials. Violence has escalated in Kashmir as India holds an election to the state assembly that separatists have shunned and instead urged talks with Pakistan to resolve the 67-year-old row over the Muslim-majority region.
