Goa/ Karnataka/ Gujarat, Jan 1 (ANI): After an eventful year, India welcomed 2014 with celebrations, music and food festivals. Thousands of foreign tourists thronged India's party capital, Goa, which boasts colonial Portuguese charm, sun-kissed beaches and great seafood. The New Year parties arranged in various hotels and clubs, besides on the off-shore casinos received overwhelming response from the tourists visiting the state. A resident of Bangalore, Anjali, wished for a peaceful 2014. In Ahmedabad, people welcomed the New Year with cultural programs and traditional dance performances. Amid enthusiasm, the locals as well as the tourists were overjoyed to celebrate the New Year.
