New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): India's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that it is keen to engage with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to enhance strategic partnership to work together not only on bilateral but also on regional and international issues. Kerry is scheduled to visit India on Wednesday as Washington tries to revitalize ties it sees as a counterbalance to China's rising power. On Wednesday, MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said this would be the first high-level engagement between India and U.S after the new Modi government assumed office. Meanwhile, Akbaruddin also said Modi's visit to Washington would enhance India-U.S strategic ties. Hailing the multi-faceted relationship between India and U.S, Akbaruddin said the leaders would also discuss issues of economic nature with positive goals and outcomes.
