Ranchi/Agra, June 06 (ANI): Residents and tourists across India suffered as severe heat wave conditions intensified unabated on Friday and temperatures rose above 40 degrees Celsius in some states. Tourists visiting the iconic monument Taj Mahal in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh complained of lack of basic facilities like drinking water by the authorities under oppressive heat conditions. The maximum temperature in Agra was recorded above 40 degrees Celsius and the city also faced severe power cuts and acute water crisis. In Jharkhand, pedestrians and two-wheeler riders suffered the most under sweltering sun and looked for ways to beat the heat. Residents were seen carrying umbrellas, wearing protective clothing and drinking fruit juices to protect themselves from the sun.
