Amritsar / Kanpur / Nagpur, June 8 (ANI): The intense heat wave in India continues, with the temperature touching 45 degrees Celsius and above in many cities, forcing people to stay indoors. A resident of Amritsar city in Punjab, Rahul, said that the businesses in his city are suffering as few people dare to step out of their houses before evening. Delayed by four days, the southwest monsoon has hit Kerala on June 06. The delay and the sluggish pace of the monsoons ensure that there will be no respite from the heat for the northern parts of the country for some time to come. Farmers in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh offered prayers to rain god and sun god to bring rains to the region soon.
