The 66th Cannes Film Festival will kick start on 15 May, and like in the past, we will see a host of Indian celebrities attending the event and walking the red carpet this year too.

Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto will walk the red carpet at the 2013 Cannes International film Festival in France. Superstars of Indian Cinema like Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth will also attend the event.

Bollywood diva Vidya Balan has also been invited for the event to join as one of the jury members this year.

Several films like "Bombay Talkies" - an anthology of four short films - and Anurag Kashyap's "Ugly" will be screened at the prestigious film festival. But there are no Indian films in the competition for the Palm D'Or, the highest prize awarded to the director of the best feature film of the official competition at the Film Festival.

This year, Indian filmmakers will be releasing the trailers of their film which includes Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan" and Sherlyn Chopra's "Kamasutra 3D".

Talking about actresses walking the red carpet, the three actresses, who are also the brand ambassadors of the cosmetic brand L'Oreal Paris, will sport looks inspired by Bollywood's different eras.

"As the festival celebrates Indian cinema this year, L'Oreal Paris will bring alive iconic make-up trends inspired by Bollywood that will be sported by both our Indian and international brand ambassadors," Manashi Guha, marketing manager, L'Oreal Paris, said in a statement.

The former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai, touted as one of the "world's most beautiful women", will walk the red carpet for the 12th year in a row. Aishwarya will also be the guest of honour at a special evening on 19 May that will be celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema. She will walk the red carpet on 20 May.

"It is great to see the Indian film industry being celebrated and honoured on the occasion of its 100th anniversary at an internationally respected platform like the Cannes film festival. This truly signifies the impact made by India on world cinema," said Aishwarya, according to IANS.
