Kanipora, Aug 11 (ANI): The incessant rainfall this year in Jammu and Kashmir has hugely hit plum crop falling its production by more than twenty percent. The unseasonal rains in some parts of plum growing area like Kanipora, Budgam and Zakurain near Srinagar have hampered the flowers growth of the fruit which results in low productivity. The mouth watering Kashmiri plums are known for their superiority of taste and are very popular in across the country. However, Horticulture Officer, Manzoor Ahmad said continuous rains for three consecutive months and not meeting the optimum plum growing temperature has hit the production of the fruit.
