'Ilayathalapathy' Vijay has pipped other popular Tamil actors like Suriya and Ajith to become the most-Googled Kollywood actor of 2014, according to the Google trends.

Suriya takes the second spot in the list, followed by Ajith, Rajinikanth and Vikram. Kamal Haasan ranks sixth in the list.

In terms of most Googled Tamil actors over the last decade, Vijay again tops the list. He is followed by Suriya, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Clearly Vijay emerges on top among the leading actors of Tamil cinema.

Recently, Forbes India released "Celebrity 100" list for this year. Vijay was ahead of other popular actors including Ajith, Rajinikanth, Dhanush and Prabhu Deva. The actor was ranked 41 in the list and is said to have earned earned ₹33 crore through films and endorsements.

According to Forbes India, Vijay's earnings rank is 23 and fame rank is 80. The actor had a fantastic year with two of his films having fared well at the box office. While "Jilla" did decent business at the box office, his second film "Kaththi" turned out to be a huge hit. The Vijay starrer is still the highest grossing Tamil film of the year with more than ₹100 crore earnings.

Vijay is all set to be seen in Chimbudevan directorial, which is currently referred as "Vijay 58." The film, touted to be a fantasy-based entertainer, will reportedly have 'Ilayathalapathy' playing dual roles. Produced by PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens, "Vijay 58" is deemed the costliest film in the actor's career.

Ajith

Ajith has also found a place in Forbes "Celebrity 100" list. The actor is ranked 51 in the list and his earnings amount to ₹40.33 crore. His money rank is 19 and fame rank is 98.

Ajith's last release "Veeram" did good business at the box office and grossed over ₹100 crore at the worldwide box office, according to Forbes India.

Thala, as Ajith is fondly referred by his fans, is starring in Gautham Menon's "Yennai Arindhaal," which is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2015.

Suriya

Suriya's 2014-release "Anjaan" was panned by critics and the film also failed to set the cash registers ringing. The actor has teamed up with director Venkat Prabhu for a fantasy entertainer, which is expected to hit the screens in March 2015.

Rajinikanth

For the first time in several years, Rajinikanth had two releases in 2014. His "Kochadaiiyaan" is deemed as India's first 3D film using motion capturing techniques. The film got mixed reviews from critics and failed to fare well at the box office.

The actor's second release of the year – "Lingaa" – has taken huge openings at the box office. However, the film's box office status will be known in a week or two.

Kamal Haasan

The actor's "Vishwaroopam 2" was expected to hit the screens this year, but did not. In 2015, it will be a triple treat for 'Ulaganayagan's fans as three of his films including "Uttama Villain" and "Papanasam" are set to hit the screens.

Vikram

Vikram also did not have any releases this year. The actor's "I" was expected to release for Diwali, but failed to keep up with the date due to delay in post-production work. "I" is slated to release for Pongal 2015. The Shankar directorial is among the most-anticipated Tamil films of the year.
