The father-son duo Ranbir and Rishi Kapoor absolutely awed the audience as they performed live together for the first time at the 13th IIFA awards in Singapore on Saturday night.

Their performance was certainly the most awaited at IIFA this year as it was the first time ever when the superstar father Rishi Kapoor came together with his "Rockstar" son Ranbir.

The act was choreographed by Prabhu Deva, and was perhaps the only reason Ranbir was game for performing live at IIFA awards.

"I did not have the confidence to come on stage and perform, But this time around Prabhu Deva is choreographing...I love his choreography...so I thought why not do it," Ranbir had said in an interview before the performance.

"He is the dancing star not only of India but of the world. I think he is better than Michael Jackson," he said of Prabhu Deva.

The exhilarating performance at the star-studded Saturday evening in Singapore kick-started with the entry of Bollywood's heartthrob Ranbir with an electric guitar in his hand and performed on the song "Saada Haq" from his film Rockstar followed by "Tai Tai Phish" from Chillar Party and others.

While, father Rishi completely stole the public eye as he joined on-stage saying his famous dialogue, "Kya Tumne Kisi se pyar kiya."

The duo then danced on the remixed version of the song Bachna ae Haseeno and other songs including "Paisa ye Paisa" from Rishi's 1980 film "Karz." After which the Kapoor boy, who was earlier apprehensive about matching level with his levels of perfection, kowtowed to his father accepting defeat at the end of the performance.

"This has been a great evening - I had the privilege of dancing with my father for the first time in an act choreographed by Prabhu Deva," Ranbir said on stage after the performance.

Rishi Kapoor is known for his magical dancing style, his youthful energy, jovial attitude and his captivating smile that has left the audience spell-bound for more than four decades in the industry, while his son Ranbir is well versed with modern style dancing and has won several acclaims for being one of the finest young dancers in Bollywood alongside Hritik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and others.

Well, never mind the petite hits and misses that are a part and parcel of every award function. This time it was just a little adorable goof-up during the performance onstage. While the duo had to change costumes amidst the performance, mistakenly their jackets got exchanged; hence Rishi wore son's silver jacket and Ranbir wore father's oversized jacket; however they both pulled it exceptionally well together.
