Mother of Pune murder victim Ketan Agrawal has alleged that she had made it clear to her future daughter-in-law, Siya Goyal, that alcohol would not be allowed in their home, claiming that despite this, Goyal continued to drink and that her parents concealed the matter from the Agrawal family.
Ketan Agrawal, 26, was allegedly murdered near Lohagad Fort in Pune by his 20-year-old fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, 22, in a case that has shocked many.
Speaking to NDTV, Ketan's mother said Siya had visited their home several times before the wedding, including for a pooja and family dinners.
"She had visited our house 2-3 times, once for a pooja and 2-3 times for dinner. I had frankly told her that drinking alcohol is not allowed at my house and I will not allow her to go to parties. Despite this, she used to drink, and this was hidden from us by her parents," she alleged.

The grieving mother further claimed that Siya and Chetan had conspired together to kill her son and demanded the harshest punishment for the accused.
During the investigation, police allegedly discovered that Siya was in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary, a resident of Kondhwa in Pune. Investigators believe the two conspired to eliminate Ketan and carefully planned the trip to Lohagad Fort as part of the murder plot.
Ketan's father, Vishal Agrawal, questioned why Siya did not simply call off the wedding if she was in love with someone else.
"If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused. We would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they take such a drastic step? What kind of mindset is this? Their mindset is so cruel that someone's 26-year-old son could be killed. Society needs to take note of such a cruel mindset. Where does this ideology come from, their family, their upbringing?" he said.
As the investigation continues, the Agrawal family has demanded justice for Ketan, maintaining that the alleged murder was a pre-planned act carried out by Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.
