The news of Valentino's passing away was shared on social media, especially on Instagram, around 12.00 am IST on Monday. In the statement issued, it was clearly mentioned that the fashion maestro had his loved ones around him in his last minutes.
The statement read, "Valentino Garavani passed away today at his Roman residence, surrounded by his loved ones. The lying in state will be held at PM23 in Piazza Mignanelli 23 on Wednesday January 21st and Thursday January 22nd, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The funeral will take place on Friday, January 23rd at the Basilica Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, in Piazza della Repubblica 8 in Rome, at 11 am."
For all these past decades, this Italian designer has dominated the fashion world, from making it big at the stores to having the greatest presence on red carpets. The signature 'Valentino Red' was adorned by several celebrities across the world. He designed stellar outfits for many significant names, including Lady Diana, Julia Roberts and Jacqueline Kennedy.
