The Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore has witnessed a lot of matches of Bengaluru FC on Sundays, but April 17 was something special. The home side were on the verge of history.

West Block Blues -- the iconic stand of the stadium, for the Bengaluru FC fans, of the Bengaluru FC fans and by the Bengaluru FC fans cheered on for the Blues even before the teams -- Bengaluru FC and Salgaocar FC -- came out for their warm-up just before the start of the game.

While the seats were steadily filling in inside the stadium, the scene outside was something we have only grown up watching fans of European clubs do. From waving flags to the face paints to blue smokes all over the Kanteerava, the fans proved it the occasion was not just another I-League game. It was something special.

From 'Que Sera Sera' to 'We shall overcome' and 'West Block Blues we are' to 'Who are we? BFC', the cheers and the chants reached crescendo. Just a few distance away, Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore were scheduled to play their first home match of IPL 2016 on Sunday against the Delhi Daredevils at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

"We will make our voices reach till the Chinnaswamy today and I'm sure the supporters from the cricket stadium will rush towards Kanteerava to see it all," said Akhliesh, one of the ardent fans cheering at the top of his voice for almost an hour prior to the start of the match. "History doesn't happen everyday," he added to International Business Times, India.

The last time, BFC won the title after defeating Dempo at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa to clinch their first I-League title. This time, will they be able to achieve their first I-League title at home? The answer will be out after the most crucial 90 minutes that will define everything for them.
