US President Donald Trump kept his Halloween costume simple this year, choosing to dress up as himself while attending the annual Halloween party at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Saturday.

Wearing his signature dark blue suit and red tie, Trump joked that he did not have enough time to prepare an elaborate costume, unlike other guests who reportedly spent hours getting ready for the occasion.

"I came as Donald Trump. I didn't have time to get anything," the President told reporters as he arrived at the Halloween celebration.

Taking a dig at the elaborate preparations made by other attendees, Trump said, "People spend a lot of time and money. Rich people! And they spend nine hours getting ready. I had 10 minutes. So I came as Donald Trump."

The jungle-themed Halloween celebration was attended by several guests, including prominent business personalities and members of Trump's private club. The Mar-a-Lago ballroom featured elaborate decorations, animal-themed performers and guests dressed in a variety of costumes.

Trump also pointed towards some of the wealthy attendees while speaking to reporters, describing them as some of the biggest personalities on Wall Street who had spent considerable time preparing their Halloween looks.

JD Vance chooses Harry Potter-inspired Halloween look

While Trump opted for his everyday presidential attire, Vice President JD Vance embraced a fictional character for Halloween.

Vance dressed up as Albus Dumbledore, the Hogwarts headmaster from the popular Harry Potter franchise. His family also joined the celebrations with costumes inspired by the fantasy series. His newborn son Alec was dressed as Dobby, while his eldest son Ewan appeared as Harry Potter.

Vance shared a family photograph on social media, giving followers a glimpse of their Halloween celebrations.

Trump balances Halloween celebrations with political engagements

The Halloween party came amid Trump's political engagements ahead of the November 3 midterm elections. The President had participated in virtual campaign events supporting Republican candidates and was scheduled to travel to Iowa and Kansas for campaign appearances.

Speaking to reporters at Mar-a-Lago, Trump also addressed questions about several political and international developments, including the conflicts involving Iran and Ukraine.

Despite the elaborate celebrations at his Florida estate, Trump's own Halloween look remained unchanged, with the President joking that his familiar appearance was costume enough.
