Hyundai's new Tucson SUV seems to have got it all right in its new version. The SUV, which made a grand entry into the market on November 14, has reportedly received over 500 orders in the country so far.
The booking numbers of Tucson are on the rise in India, RushLane reported. The vehicle has been priced at Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It was earlier reported that there is great demand for diesel models of Tucson in the country and that the top-end diesel model is also garnering good numbers.
Under the hood, Tucson comes powered by 2.0 litre petrol and a 2.0 litre diesel engine. While the 2.0-litre CRDi engine can churn out 182bhp at 4,000rpm and 400Nm at 1,750-2,750rpm, the petrol mill can generate 153bhp at 6,200rpm and a peak torque of 192Nm at 4,000rpm. Available in five variants, the Tucson is currently offered only in 2WD (2 wheel drive) options. Rumour also has it that the AWD (all-wheel drive) version of the Tucson will join the line-up by April next year.
Based on the Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy of Hyundai, Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,645mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,670mm. On the safety front, the Tucson features electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-start assist control (HAC), downhill brake control (DBC), and brake assist. The SUV gets signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps, cheeky bumpers and wrap-around LED taillights.
The Tucson, which sits between Creta and Santa Fe in India, squares off against Mahindra XUV500, Honda CR-V and Skoda Yeti.
