Hyundai Motor India is all set to break the cover of its much-awaited Tucson SUV in the country on November 14. The new Tucson has already started arriving at the dealerships of the company and the cyber space is abuzz with the images of the new SUV.

Hyundai India, which recently unveiled the design expressions of upcoming SUV, had revealed that Tucson "portrays an image of a 'Strong Sun' lending a premium character with performance to the Brand". In India, the Tucson will be positioned between the Creta and Santa Fe and the SUV will rival Mahindra XUV500, Honda CR-V and Skoda Yeti.

Based on Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy of Hyundai, the Tucson flaunts a signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps, cheeky bumpers and wrap-around LED taillights. The Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,645mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,670mm.

The latest generation of the SUV features leather upholstery for the seats and leather wrapping for the instrument panel and steering wheel. The India-spec version of the Tucson is also expected to get Android Auto feature, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and six airbags. Other features include electronic driving aids such as autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping assist system, rear traffic cross alert, blind spot detection, speed limit information function and an active hood system.

Under the hood, the Tucson is expected to get a 2.0-litre diesel engine under the hood that can churn out 180bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to six-speed manual transmission. Hyundai is expected to price the Tucson in India at starting price of Rs 18 lakh. The bookings for the soon-to-be-launched the new Tucson are already open in the country for a down-payment of Rs 25,000 and Hyundai is expected to commence the delivery in November itself.
