Hyundai Motors has released the first rendering of its new Genesis G90, soon after announcing the launch of its new luxury brand Genesis.

The new range-topping G90 luxury sedan, named EQ900 in Korea, is designed under the "Athletic Elegance" theme. Scheduled for a launch in December in Korea, G90 will house safety features and technological innovations to position itself in the luxury market.

"Genesis' new large luxury sedan G90 will deliver a concept of 'New Luxury' to our customers. The G90 sits at the pinnacle of the Genesis brand and demonstrates how we apply our human-centred values to give our customer true satisfaction in every aspect of the vehicle ownership experience," said Woong-Chul Yang, head of Hyundai Motor R&D Centre and Vice-Chairman of Hyundai Motor.

Genesis, the standalone new brand of Hyundai which will have six new models in its line-up by 2020, will initially launch its models in the Korean, Chinese, North American and Middle Eastern luxury car markets. The brand will expand its reach to Europe and other parts of Asia once it has established itself in the luxury car market.

The new Genesis G90 brand, designed by prestige design division Luc Donckerwolke, gets "the grand radiator grille combined with sophisticated headlamps".
