Auto Car India reports that Hyundai Elite i20, which has been on the Indian roads for quite some time, will be getting factory-fitted touchscreen infotainment system.

The new feature will also come with satellite navigation. It would be interesting to note that the soon-to-be-launched Honda Jazz, the Elite i20 rival is also expected to come equipped with the same features.

If this turns out to be true, in this segment, Honda Jazz and Elite i20 segment will become the few models to feature touchscreen infotainment systems.

Launched in August 2014, Hyundai Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. While the petrol engine of Elite i20 can churn out 83ps of power and peak torque of 114nm, the diesel motor is tuned to generate 90ps of power and peak torque of 220nm.

On the safety front, the new i20 offers Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), four-passenger airbags and reverse-parking camera. It was reported previously that Elite i20 commands a waiting period of three months in the country depending on the model.
