If the latest reports are anything to go by, South Korean auto maker Hyundai will launch India-made Creta SUV in Algerian market in 2016.

A report of Algerian portal AutoAlgerie.com states that India-made Creta Crossover Utility vehicle (CUV) will start reaching their shores in 2016.

Launched on 21 July in India, Hyundai compact SUV Creta received overwhelming response in the country. Although Hyundai had earlier said that the company will start the export of its Creta SUV to other markets, the plan was later put on halt temporarily due to the increasing demand for the model in the domestic market.

Priced between Rs 8.59 lakh and Rs 13.60 lakh in India, the Creta is being offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque.

The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. The entire engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with 6-speed automatic transmission.
