It was reported that HTC might discard its "One" series, and many might have taken it seriously after the omission of the word in the recently released HTC 10, but the Taiwanese company has surprised with a new handset from the One series. The name of the new smartphone is HTC One S9.

According to a report by PriceRaja (via GSM Arena), the HTC One S9 has been launched in Germany, and comes with a price tag of €499 (around Rs. 37,500). It went on to say that the device looks like a hybrid between HTC One M9 and HTC 10.

The device sports a 5-inch Full HD display with 1,920×1,080 pixels (443 ppi pixel density), measures 144,6×69,7×10,09 mm in dimension and weighs 158 g, according to HTC website. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocking at 2 GHz, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense UI, a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 2TB via miroSD card) and a 2GB RAM. 

It has a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, 28mm and OIS, a 4 UltraPixel front-snapper with 2 μm pixels, f/2.0 aperture and 26.8mm focal length, and a 2,840mAh battery. It also has a metal unibody design and a BoomSound speaker.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports NFC, LTE bands with Cat.4 speeds, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou and DLNA.
