Taiwanese company's 2014 flagship smartphone HTC One's (M8) India price has been leaked just hours ahead of the official launch.

NDTV Gadgets had gotten hold of the retail package of the alleged HTC One (M8), apparently revealing the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) of the metal-clad device to be a whopping ₹59,900, almost ₹8,500 more than the Samsung's Galaxy S5.

As of now, there is no proof to authenticate this report and interested buyers will have to wait for a few more hours as the official announcement is scheduled to take place later today.

[Update:  It turns out that the company has officially launched HTC One M8 with Sense UI for ₹49,900, that's ₹1600 less than the rival Galaxy S5 in the Indian market. The new HTC phone is said to hit stores in May first week.]

HTC One (M8) has been already been made available in select regions of North America, Europe and Asia. The HTC phone has heaped lot of praise from tech pundits across the globe for its refreshing seamless (zero-gap) design and build quality with infusion of lot of metal (90-percent, to be precise).

Under the hood, HTC One (M8) packs 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 series quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB (expandable up to 128GB) and a 2600 mAh battery.

One of key attribute of HTC One M8 is that it houses dual-camera on the rear-side having UltraPixel technology with 2592x1944p image resolution, dual-color LED flash (True Tone), 1/3'' sensor size, 2µm pixel size, automatic simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, HDR, panorama and on the front, it packs a 5.0-megapixel camera for video chat and also take quality selfie for the user to share it on various social network sites.
